Hello, and welcome!

My name is Madeline. I'm a writer, editor and astrology enthusiast. I believe stories shape our inner and outer worlds, and they help to ground us in our identities and communities. In the space between observation and experience, true alchemy occurs when stories emerge to both illuminate and inspire.

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Simply put, astrology is a tool which takes a specific moment in time and space, and forms a hypothesis about what story is occurring in that moment. The story itself comes from collective myths, philosophies and correlating reports of events from large groups and individuals. Originally starting with about 400 years’ worth of information, the data pool of these vastly nuanced factors have multiplied exponentially over thousands of years.

Observable patterns can inform our choices

So, why astrology? Once you can decode its symbolism, astrology shows us possibilities and opportunities. Think of it like a weather report: when we know what conditions are possible, we can choose to carry an umbrella with us on a rainy day, or know we might need to prepare for a storm. I believe that’s far more helpful than shaking my fists at mean sky gods, blaming them for my luck or behaviors.

Spoiler alert — the Centaur Archer is the constellation which energized my first breath (a.k.a. the Rising sign), as well as my Sun. “Why” has been a core question for me since I first learned to speak.

I will be diving into why astrology holds deep meaning and value to me, but everyone’s interests will vary. Ultimately, you putting the theory into practice is going to reveal your “why” to you. I’m just a research-minded, mythology-loving nerd who has found wonder, curiosity and profound experiences in my studies. I’m here to share it all simply because I find them too exciting to keep to myself.

So, how do we even begin to interpret the patterns to tell a story? That’s part of what this blog will cover, over time. I’ll be sharing some general information as well as ways I’ve found to make it easier to digest at all learning levels. You’ll read personal stories and case studies that showcase the wondrous connections and insights astrology has to offer, and I’ll throw in some of my own tried and true methods and tips to help bring the abstract back down to earth.
